Abstract
⺠This study reported the current status equine piroplasmosis (EP) in the Sudan focusing on areas with high population of horses in the Sudan. ⺠Moreover, we described a new and high throughput method for differentiating the causative agents of the (EP) Thelieria equi and Babesia caballi. ⺠Species differentiation will assist to prescribe the drug of choice since the two parasites respond differently to treatment and disease control.
