Abstract
⺠During surveillance a G9P[6] rotavirus (BE2001) was isolated from a 1 month old boy in Belgium. ⺠Full gene analysis showed a unique G9-P[6]-I5-R1-C1-M1-A8-N1-T7-E1-H1 genotype constellation. ⺠For most segments strain BE2001 clustered with porcine rotavirus strains. ⺠The NSP3 T7 genotype is very rare and possibly of porcine origin. ⺠The BE2001 NSP5 gene segment showed a duplication in the 3Ⲡend non-coding region.
