Abstract
- We isolate and characterize six (4 humans and 2 ticks) isolates of 2010-11 from India.
- L/S genes cluster in Asian while M gene clusters in Central Asian/African group.
- Differing parental origin in S and L/M genes suggests intra-genotypic reassortment.
- Clock analyses provide evidence of recent imports from neighboring countries.
- The study strengthens the need for enhanced and sustainable surveillance.
