Abstract
- HIV-1 transmission dynamics in Madrid, Spain, using phylogeny and epidemiology.
- One out of five HIV-infected patients was epidemically linked in clusters.
- MSM, Spaniards and Latin Americans were more frequent in transmission networks.
- There was no evidence of self-sustained non-B epidemics, excepting CRFs BF and BG.
- Differences in transmission across subtypes are determined by the infection route.
