► Local outbreak of G3P[6] RVA strains in Belgium in the 2008-2009 season. ► Two Belgian G3P[6] and one American G2P[6] RVA strains selected and completely sequenced. ► All 3 strains possessed DS-1-like genotype constellation: I2-R2-C2-M2-A2-N2-T2-E2-H2. ► Close relationship between Belgian and American P[6] RVA strains. ► Possible African origin of investigated P[6] RVA strains.
