Abstract
► New VNTR loci in the Neisseria gonorrhoeae genome were identified. ► An isolates collection was characterized by the VNTR analysis, opa-typing and NG-MAST. ► Hunter-Gaston Discrimination Indexes for these were 0.98, 0.97 and 0.95, respectively. ► VNTR analysis described here is simple, inexpensive, easy to interpret, and highly discriminatory method.
