Abstract
⺠The Indian DENV-3 belong to genotype III and DENV-4 belong to genotype I/V. ⺠A new DENV-3 lineage and a new DENV-4 genotype were identified. ⺠Three amino acid mutations may contribute to emergence of virulent DENV-3 lineages. ⺠A 1979 Indian DENV-4 isolate was recombinant of genotype I and genotype V viruses. ⺠Phylogeographical analysis showed that DENV-3 GIII and DENV-4 emerged and dispersed from India.
