Abstract
► Redox proteomics have been performed in malaria infected and uninfected erythrocytes. ► Differentially oxidized pattern have been identified in uninfected blood group O. ► Cytoskeleton and lipid rafts proteins were the main networks oxidized upon infection. ► Blood group O infected erythrocytes showed specific membrane protein oxidized pattern. ► Carbonylation of group O cytoskeleton proteins may underlie protection against malaria.
