► Diversifying selection was measured using pN/pS. ► Experimentally evident epitopes were obtained from IEDB database. ► Proteins containing epitopes are subject of diversifying selection. ► Proteins expressed in sporozoite stage are under stronger diversifying selection. ► Proteins expressed in sporozoite stage are most antigenic.
