Abstract
► Group A rotaviruses are the leading cause of acute gastroenteritis in children. ► We analysed Australian rotavirus NSP2 gene sequences. ► Phylogenetic analysis shows conservation of Australian NSP2 gene sequences. ► NSP2 genes exhibited recombination, reassortment and interspecies transmission.
