Abstract
⺠We assessed the genetic diversity among Papillomaviruses that infect distinct hosts. ⺠We established a new approach based on entropy. ⺠The lower the entropy the more informative are the genomic regions. ⺠Low entropy genomic regions were used in viral phylogeny for the first time. ⺠Satisfactory phylogenetic trees were obtained using much less computational cost.
