Abstract
► Culex quinquefasciatus from São Paulo, Brazil, was naturally-infected with Wolbachia. ► Females were disinfected with tetracycline and yielded progenies without Wolbachia. ► Disinfected females laid more eggs and eggs with higher viability. ► Disinfected females laid eggs later and its longevity was lower. ► The crossing: disinfected females × infected males was reproductively incompatible.
