Abstract
- Levels of gene flow were compared between three sister species.
- Sympatric sister species showed either no or high gene flow.
- One species probably arose through hybridization between the two others.
- The potential hybrid species maintains high gene flow with one putative parental species.
- Our comparison with another genus illustrates the diversity of existing introgression patterns in Marantaceae.
