Abstract
- The phylogeny of Stachydeae is inferred based on nuclear and plastid markers.
- Major clades within Stachydeae are identified.
- Most infrageneric taxa in previous Stachys classifications are non-monophyletic.
- We reveal plastid-nuclear conflicts that may have resulted from hybridization.
- Plastid phylogeny more consistent with geography, nuclear phylogeny with morphology.
