- The phylogeny of the Sino-Himalayan genus Cyananthus was reconstructed.
- Cyananthus was shown to be monophyletic, consisting of three major clades.
- Gynodioecy evolved from hermaphroditism only once in sect. Stenolobi.
- Dispersal mechanism took effect during the early evolution of Cyananthus.
- The diversification of Cyananthus was closely related to extensive orogenies.
