Abstract
⺠First multi-locus and well-sampled phylogeny of subtribe Oleinae and mostly Noronhia (Oleaceae). ⺠Extensive cases of polyphyly within the subtribe. ⺠Close relationships between Chionanthus and Noronhia that may involve hybridization. ⺠Colonization of Madagascar from late Cenozoic dispersal from Africa. ⺠Circumscription of the genus Chionanthus in great need of revision.
