Abstract
⺠Is the first comprehensive hypothesis for the phylogenetic relationships of genus Lycosa. ⺠Molecular species delimitation provides support for 12 different species. ⺠North-Western Africa has acted as the diversification center. ⺠Mediterranean-like climate and glaciations are the main factors of diversification. ⺠Important taxonomic changes are proposed.
