Abstract
► Aricia is a monophyletic genus, including Pseudoaricia, Ultraaricia, and Umpria. ► We confirm the morphological separation of cramera from the similar species. ► We synonymize several taxa and show that montensis is probably a good species. ► The distributions of agestis, artaxerxes, cramera and montensis are clarified. ► agestis and cramera show mutual exclusion on islands and a hybrid zone in NE Spain.
