⺠Twenty Asian algae eating fish species of the genus Capoeta form monophyletic lineage. ⺠Despite monophyly Capoeta nests inside the Luciobarbus clade due to polyploid origination. ⺠The phylogenetic organization of Capoeta is composed of three main clades.
