Abstract
⺠Four major lineages within Petrogale, three contain ancestral karyotype (2n = 22). ⺠Petrogale concinna part of the genus Petrogale (not Peradorcas concinna). ⺠Petrogale brachyotis is paraphyletic, need to resolve brachyotis group relationships. ⺠Late Miocene, Plio-Pleistocene climatic changes associated with diversification. ⺠Ancestral Petrogale originated from a mesic environment.
