Abstract
⺠Phylogenetics has revolutionized the study of disparate fields from genomics to ecology. ⺠Phylogenetics has revealed the origin of both HIV-1 and HIV-2. ⺠HIV it is a model to the study of infectious diseases. ⺠Phylogenetics has been applied to problems such as resistance and reservoirs. ⺠Phylogenetic methods have been also exploited to follow ongoing epidemics.
