Abstract
⺠Traditional morphological characters misrepresent species diversity in Xanthoparmelia. ⺠Vagrancy, distinct chemistries, and reproductive modes evolved independently multiple times. ⺠Diversity of vagrant Xanthoparmelia has been underestimated. ⺠Molecular species delimitation methods here provide an alterative hypothesis for species circumscription.
