Abstract
⺠We examine genetic structure and evolutionary history of mitten crabs in East Asia. ⺠Pleistocene glaciation is the primary force in shaping the genetic structure. ⺠Selection is the secondary and human activity is the minimal evolutionary forces for the structure. ⺠Current and historical hybridizations were respectively detected in two sympatric zones. ⺠Adaptive speciation due to selection from temperature rather than habitat was proposed.
