Abstract
► A phylogeny of the millipede genus Brachycybe is inferred. ► The phylogeny is based on mitochondrial and nuclear genes. ► GMYC analysis indicates Brachycybe contains eight species, two unrecognized. ► The group is ancient, >50 million years old and has a disjunct distribution. ► These data highlight the necessity for integrative approaches to taxonomy.
