Abstract
► The phylogeny of M. nattereri s.l. is investigated in the Western Palearctic. ► Four coincident clades result in mtDNA and nDNA phylogenies and clustering analyses. ► Coalescent-based species-tree highly supports this grouping pattern. ► The four groups recognized within M. nattereri s.l. correspond to four valid species.
