Abstract
⺠Pteroglossus has four main groups: viridis, torquatus, aracari and bitorquatus. ⺠Amazon/Atlantic forest splits occurred multiple times in the past in various groups. ⺠Pteroglossus Amazon/Andes split concords with Andean orogeny as a vicariance event. ⺠Constant rate of speciation without extinction models fits the Pteroglossus data best. ⺠Falsifies hypothesis of increased diversification during the Pleistocene.
