Abstract
⺠The two subgenera Limnogonus s.str. and Limnogonoides are not reciprocally monophyletic. ⺠L. luctuosus from Australia and Moorea probably represents new or unrecognized species. ⺠L. fossarum from the Andaman Is. probably represents a new subspecies or even full species. ⺠Limnogonus has two independent transitions from the Old World to the New World.
