A neotropical polymorphic damselfly shows poor congruence between genetic and traditional morphological characters in Odonata

► The Neotropical damselfly of the genus Polythore shows incongruence between classical morphological and genetic characters in odonates. ► Two divergent lineages of this genus at the eastern Colombian Andes without apparent morphological, made them good candidates of possible cryptic speciation. ► The mechanical isolation that distinguish odonates seem not to be the force maintaining the lineages integrity.
