Abstract
Ants' ability to choose between foods with different protein content (free amino acids or whole proteins), and the effect of protein to carbohydrate ratio on this choice. When ants are faced with high carbohydrate foods, they do not show a preference between free amino acids or whole proteins. However, a preference for amino acids emerges when choosing between high protein diets.
