Abstract
⺠H. didymator relies on passive and active strategies to evade encapsulation by the host. ⺠Oviposited eggs avoid host encapsulation due to surface proteins. ⺠Calyx fluid is required for larvae to avoid encapsulation. ⺠Viral and immune-related proteins appear to be involved in egg immune evasion.
