Abstract
⺠In termites, soldier-caste differentiation is induced by juvenile hormone (JH). ⺠Subtracted cDNA libraries were obtained from natural and JH analog-treated workers. ⺠Worker-specific digestive enzymes were downregulated by JH analog. ⺠Hexamerins and a putative nuclear protein were upregulated by JH analog. ⺠These upregulated genes are likely to be involved in JH-mediated caste regulation.
