Abstract
⺠Nutrient reserves decrease during pharate 1st instar quiescence in Aedes aegypti. ⺠Duration of pharate 1st instar quiescence negatively affects subsequent larval fitness. ⺠An extended quiescence period decreases metallothionein mRNA levels and compromises metal tolerance physiology.
