Abstract
► We identified two cathepsin L encoding genes expressed the midgut of Triatomabrasiliensis. ► Both transcripts are highly abundant in the posterior midgut region. ► Cathepsin activity was characterized by in-gel zymography. ► The presence of different cathepsin forms was confirmed by Western blotting.
