Abstract
► We determined the metabolic responses to salinity (0‰, 35‰, 70‰) in an invasive ground beetle. ► Hypersaline conditions strongly impaired the duration of survival. ► The amounts of several osmolytes remained very low. ► Glycine was the most abundant metabolite in hypersaline conditions.
