Increase of 30K protein in identified motoneurons by hemolymph results in inhibition of programmed cell death in silkworm, Bombyx mori (Lepidoptera, Bombycidae)

► Programmed cell death (PCD) of motoneurons is determined by ecdysone and intrinsic inhibitors. ► 30K protein is one of the known PCD inhibitory components in PCD. ► We demonstrated that 30K protein was intrinsically expressed in target motoneurons. ► Additionally, synthesis of the 30K protein was increased by hemolymph.
