Abstract
⺠Chown et al. (2007) analyzed the scaling of metabolic rate in insects. ⺠Results suggested a deviation in the slope from the value predicted by WBE model. ⺠We corrected data and analyzed the scaling of metabolic rate in orders and families. ⺠Family Termitidae accounts for the deviation in the slope from the predicted slope. ⺠Scaling of metabolic rate in insects supports the WBE model but more research is needed.
