Abstract
⺠Misumena vatia possesses a UV and a green class of photoreceptor cells in the four pairs of eyes. ⺠Both classes of photoreceptor cells are arranged in layers, the UV layer being distal to the green. ⺠M. vatia has the physiological basis at the retinal level to see colours.
