Abstract
ⶠSix cDNAs putatively encoding antibacterial proteins were characterized. ⶠThese genes included four PGRPs, one β-1,3-glucanase-1 and one lysozyme. ⶠExcept for lysozyme, all other genes were highly expressed in the midgut. ⶠVariation was found in expression of these genes during developmental stages. ⶠAll Genes showed response to bacterial challenge.
