Abstract
ⶠMetazygia rogenhoferi (Araneidae) and Zosis geniculata (Uloboridae) have two distinct allometric curves correlating metabolic rate and body mass. ⶠZ. geniculata has an allometric curve indistinct from the land arthropods. ⶠThe ecribellate orbweaver (M. rogenhoferi) presents a higher metabolism than the cribellate one (Z. geniculata). ⶠOur results show a significant difference in the metabolic transition from viscous to the cribellate capture thread.
