Abstract
▶ Metazygia rogenhoferi (Araneidae) and Zosis geniculata (Uloboridae) have two distinct allometric curves correlating metabolic rate and body mass. ▶ Z. geniculata has an allometric curve indistinct from the land arthropods. ▶ The ecribellate orbweaver (M. rogenhoferi) presents a higher metabolism than the cribellate one (Z. geniculata). ▶ Our results show a significant difference in the metabolic transition from viscous to the cribellate capture thread.
