Abstract
⺠Zoospores are important agents for plant infection by most Phytophthora species. ⺠The topology of the plasma membrane H+-ATPase PnPMA1 of P. parasitica was determined. ⺠PnPMA1-silenced P. parasitica transformants were generated and analyzed. âºÂ High levels of PnPMA1 silencing led to production of abnormal zoospores and cyst germination. ⺠PnPMA1 plays important roles in zoospore development in P. parasitica.
