Abstract
- Land use is generally considered the main driver of human impacts on biodiversity.
- There is little consensus on how land use impacts on biodiversity are assessed in LCA.
- A wider landscape oriented and operational procedure is still missing in such models.
- Remotely sensed spectral heterogeneity is thus proposed to complement LCA practices.
- Limitations and advantages underlying this novel approach for LCA are outlined.
