Abstract
► We modeled growth and mercury sequestration by Bolboschoenus maritimus. ► Biomass allocation and salinity tolerance parameters produced the highest sensitivities. ► Mercury sequestration was simulated under scenarios of environmental change. ► The largest reductions in sequestration were related to increased salinity scenarios. ► Results point to a decrease on mercury sequestration within this century.
