Abstract
⺠We developed a bioenergetics model of an endangered bird for the winter period. ⺠Azores bullfinch energetic requirement peak in March due to thermoregulation costs. ⺠From March onwards, the bird has plenty energy for metabolic costs and activities. ⺠Removing the exotic tree Clethra arborea should be undertaken with caution. ⺠During winter C. arborea constitutes an important food item to the bird.
