Abstract
► We used resistant kernel dispersal models to predict population connectivity for144 species in U.S. Northern Rocky Mountains. ► We evaluated the degree to which connected habitat for each species overlaps connected habitat for the others. ► At low to medium dispersal abilities there is limited intersection of habitat connected by dispersal. ► We evaluated the effectiveness of American black bear in providing a connectivity umbrella for many species. ► Species associated with low elevation and non-forest habitats are poorly protected by a Black bear connectivity umbrella.
