Abstract
⺠Antagonistic interactions can vary in marginal populations of plant species. ⺠Geographic variation in vegetative traits could be promoted by herbivores. ⺠Marginal and core populations did not differ in their herbivory level. ⺠Herbivory affected differentially on maternal fitness in marginal populations. ⺠Geographic variation in vegetative traits and in phenotypic selection did not fit.
