Abstract
⺠Annual fertilization reduced the number of ectomycorrhizal fungal species. ⺠Cortinarius and Suillus mycorrhizae declined with annual fertilization. ⺠Enzyme activities of Cenococcum mycorrhizae increased with higher soil N levels. ⺠Fungal identity was the dominant influence on mycorrhizosphere enzyme profiles. ⺠Operational fertilization is not expected to compromise nutrient cycling by ECM fungi.
