Abstract
► Marine protected areas (MPAs) displaced fishing effort allocation in a small-scale fishery. ► Fishing displacement had minimal impacts on perceived fisher socioeconomic well-being. ► Catch per unit effort and catch revenues were higher in newly established fishing areas post-MPAs. ► Post-MPA fishing areas necessitate farther travel and thus impact revenues.
