Abstract
⺠We take a novel landscape approach to examine the effect of fire mosaics on birds. ⺠We highlight the relative value to birds of four fire management strategies. ⺠Fire-sensitive species benefit from the promotion of particular fire age-classes at the landscape scale. ⺠Burning a fixed percentage of the landscape annually can negatively affect bird species. ⺠Landscape-scale, species-specific knowledge can refine fire management strategies.
