Abstract
⺠Population genetic consequences of habitat fragmentation in a rare forest herb. ⺠Low genetic variation, strong population differentiation and restricted gene flow. ⺠Mainly early life-cycle stages were influenced by genetic variation. ⺠Purging of genetic load may buffer populations against negative genetic effects. ⺠Low genetic diversity implies low ability to respond to environmental change.
