Abstract
⺠We study the consequences of trapping on the magpie in France. ⺠Trapping increases local extinction of populations in countryside landscapes. ⺠Magpie has established abundant populations mitigating trapping effect in urban areas. ⺠Nationwide monitoring scheme is reliable to assess control efficiency. ⺠We recommend trapping in non urban habitats only if justified.
